A Rich History Rooted in Service
LSC’s journey began in 1945 when vocational classes were first offered at local Duluth high schools to serve returning World War II veterans. Over the decades, the institution evolved through several name changes—from the Duluth Area Institute of Technology (DAIT) to Duluth Area Vocational Technical Institute (DAVTI), then Duluth Technical Institute (DTI), and finally Duluth Technical College (DTC).
